Wash white, light and intensely coloured products separately to avoid colour fading.

A high performance detergent containing optical brighteners should only be used for white terry towelling. A mild detergent without optical brighteners should be used for coloured terry towelling preserving the brightness of the colours. First of all it is important that you wash every terry product before you use it.

It is quite normal for terry towelling products to produce fluff at the beginning – especially if they are of high-grade or high-piled fabrics. To prevent excessive and long-term fluffing, the fabric should not be allowed to rub too much in the washing machine so always ensure that the washing drum is full to capacity.

Softener should be used very sparingly and should not be used at all for the first washes. A softener adheres to the surface of the cotton fibres reducing the absorbency and drying ability of the fabric. If you use a tumble dryer, you should necessarily do without a softener. During the drying process, the air fluffs up the terry towelling and makes it particularly soft and pleasant.

Simply cut them off flush with the pile. To prevent pulled threads, do not wash your terry towelling products together with other garments having hooks or zips.

Our products are made out of the natural raw material cotton. Therefore our products can never be absolutely shrink-proof. You can prevent the fabric from shrinking by stretching it while it is still damp or after it has dried by pulling it to shape. The tumble dryer temperature should not be set too high.

Although Vossen towels stand firm playing of every temperature (even to 90 °), we recommend a lower washing temperature between 20 and 40 °.

By the quality of the Frottierartikel (Colours and Equipment procedure) and by modern detergents one achieves an equally good washing result like at higher temperatures.
Nevertheless, one saves a large amount in energy and helps, besides, to spare the environment.
